Several years ago I began a quest to seek out our family's history. Years prior I felt it was my obligation to our children to unlock the doors oto their heritage. I hope this would enrich their life's and instill a passion for life and that they feel compelled to pass the stories on to the next generation.
I married Norman R Schoenauer Jr. on December 20, 1987. Although I was adopted at birth and raised by a loving mother and father it still left me feeling somewhat unfulfilled with the question of who I was and where I came from. These unanswered questions and feelings are what drove me to search my husband's ancestry. Although my youth was full of love, it lacked the family history that my husband has. This is what fueled the need for me to give our children a sense of family, connections and pride of their heritage.
So many times around the dinner table I was mesmerized by the stories that my mother and father inlaw would tell us. My children and I would listen intently as they opened up the doors of our past . It was as though a book was being read to us, we could actually put ourselves in the moment, as though pages of our lives were being turned before our eyes.
The Schoenauer family history is forever changing, our lives are forever changing and will forever grow. To my children my you live everyday full, in happiness and faith.
